July 18, Glacier National Park, Montana

On this date, we drove to the east side of Glacier Park.  Along the way we stopped at Glacier Lodge, a fine rustic lodge with beautiful gardens, and there we explored the lodge and its grounds for some time.  We reached St. Mary campground at about 3:00, and after checking in we went to the Visitor Center, saw the exhibits and watched the movie in preparation for the next few days.  We had a small dinner back at the camper, then endured a hellish night, as winds with gusts of 45-50 mph pummeled the camper van mercilessly and made it rock.  Awoke the next morning with no sleep to have called our own.
