Israel, UK transition, July 19, 2013

The relative brevity of this entry will make up for the length of the last. Today was a day of transition, with an 8:00 British Airways flight to Heathrow. There we had a 2-hour layover, which we needed, as both my packs were searched extensively at Security. It seems a small bottle of water in one set off red flags, and in my other bag there was a small bottle of saline solution. Although it was inconvenient, I didn't mind it all too much. Then a short one-hour hop to Manchester in the UK, and then an almost 2-hour train ride on the Trans-Pennine Express to York, where we reached our final destination, the Georgian House on Bootham Street, a few meters from the city wall and the York Minster. Room very small, but we are coping nicely. Took a walk into the city to stretch our legs and familiarize ourselves with the lay of the land. We had a nice dinner at a health food restaurant, then realized we were crashing and burning fast. We walked home in a daze and fell to bed. It is just now that I have caught up with blogging, since I had no will nor strength for it last night. Another day, with beautiful weather and fine prospects, now that I have my sea legs under me once more! As ever, Sylvia
